GamaranName: Gamaran (我間乱 〜GAMARAN〜)
Author: Nakamaru Yousuke

I discovered this manga some years ago when we bought the first volume and some others after that (I finished reading the manga some years later with the scans because I wanted to know how it ended XD)

The manga starts when the rules of the state, Washitzu Naosata, looks for his successor and calls all his 31 sons to tell them to search for the most powerful martial artist in the state. The chosen martial artist will fight against the others until only one of the martial artist will win the fight and until only one of the sons will be the successor.
And here our story starts: Washitzu Naoshi, one of the sons of the current ruler of the country, hears a rumour about a legendary swordsman (who is belived that killed 1000 martial artists) and decides to search for him. At the "Daigame Ryuu" dojo he finds Kurogane Gama, the son of the legendary swordsman and after seeing the battle style of Gama, Naoshi choose Gama as his martial artist.

I found this manga really quick to read and with a good story. There isn't any supernatural power since all the martial artists use only weapons or martial techniques (sometimes a little super-humans techniques but the author try to not exaggerate XD) and the story is quick (the battles aren't that long and many of them are really interesting) and with not many useless training plots for upcoming battles. The characters develop greatly and we discover the past of many characters and about the Daigame Ryuu.
The drawings since the first volume are really good and detailed and the author use really well the screen tones from the start.
The only negative thing to this manga is that it had a rushed ending...

My rating: 9/10

Story Spoiler

I like the story, it's really interesting and all but... the rushed ending killed the finale... I wanted to see the final battle of Gama and his father and no... there's isn't. That is, for me, a big fault. I know that his father was already tired for the battle with Iori but... at least a little fight with Gama ;__;
