I love Mika Kawamura's works! Her drawings are really cute and the stories interesting (she drawed Daa! Daa! Daa! - also know as Ufo Baby). And from her art style you can always recognize her works!
I started reading this manga sometime ago but stopped after the 3rd chapter because the scans were really ugly and sometimes illegible but finally someone cleaned them a little and they are much better!
The story is really simple and like in every shojo there's a girl and her two lovs. So if you want a classic shojo this one is perfect! And if you add to it some judo you will have a good shojo with sports involved XD
But let's return to the story (XD): our main character, Asuka, loves her senpai Kujyo and when she finally decides to confess her feelings a boy from her past challenges her to a judo match... with one condition: if he wins she has to date him for three months.
Like I said, the story is a classic from every shojo but I found Awasete Ippon nice to read even if the plot wasn't really that original... but the manga is short (13 chapters) so it's nice reading all the chapters in one go. The drawing, like I said, are cute and the big panels were really great (I stopped sometimes to watch them better XD)
Now I will spoiler about the endin XDDD
In the end Asuka choose Ajiun! And I was happy about that because the senpai was... too much serious for her... I like how even until the end everyone try to obstruct the two being together and challenge the two to a judo match. I think that the Judo Tournament of Love was the best part in the manga XD (but I still can't bear Suzano...)
